The group is so noisy, I don't think you will like it. TelP51 wins. I'm a huge fan of infinix smartphones. As for me i go for infinix cuz i hate itel phone. For me,I will go for infinix, their cameras are always better than that of itel no matter the pixels, even the battery don't develop faults quickly unlike itel. It's good to see itel 1556 coming out of the closest lol, they are producing good device that can compete well with other top brands in Nigeria.. They both offers same old mediaTek chipset, though Itel adopts the 5.5-inch screen with a bigger battery capacity which i believe are part of the priorities of any phone buyer in Nigeria. This is the first time an iTel smartphone visited our test lab, the iTel 1516 Plus review shows that iTel has come a long way. Tel used to have a very negative reception, the smartphone maker has been doing a lot of things to change that and they have come up with the iTel 1516 Plus. I was surprised by the design which looks really great by a large margin. This is further complimented by its large mega battery, a 5000mAh rated battery! The reason why it is a super monster is simply because it is on a 5-inch LCD display that doesn’t consume battery.
The larger the display and the more pixels you have, the faster your battery get drained. So, the iTel 1516 Plus has its biggest selling point on the battery capacity, shooing for other areas that don’t have the edge. Before we talk about the iTel 1516 Plus review, let’s see what we have in the box. The mid-rage smartphone comes with a normal box, the smartphone sits just on-top of it. Removing the phone, you see the micro-USB cable, charger, earpiece, OTG adapter and pouch. Nothing special in the box, just the traditional packing with a manual. The smartphone has a curve edged design language, built with small bit of plastic shell and metal casing, it is a power beast with a non-removable 5000mAh battery.
It has a large bezels which is not what I love to see in any smartphone, the 2MP front facing camera and soft flash is located just above the display. The display is only 480 x 854 in resolution with a pixel density of 195 pixel density. Outside that, you will find the volume rocker and power button at the right frame of the smartphone. The headphone socket is located at the top and at the bottom, you will also find the micro-USB port. At the back of the smartphone, you find the 8MP primary camera with dual LED flash and speaker grill just at the bottom.
Talking about the software, the iTel 1516 Plus comes with Android 5.1 out of the box. I do not know if this can be updated over-the-air but they are a couple of preloaded apps, bloatwares that takes more than half of the 8GB internal memory available on the smartphone. The 1GB RAM iTel 1516 smartphone stylish runs the smartphone that feels pretty cool on the hand. I didn’t do any benchmarking test for the smartphone, since the device isn’t targeted at power users. So any benchmarking score will really make no sense, but it can still run a couple of multiple applications before you start to notice any form of lag. Don’t try to upgrade the memory above 32GB, the 1.2GHz MediaTek processor won’t be able to handle it. For guys who will be looking for a cheap 4G LTE smartphone, this will not appeal to you as there are no 4G LTE modem on the smartphone. Rather, you will get 3G, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, USB 3.0, accelerator and proximity sensor as it connectivity standard. The battery is super impressive riding on the fact that it comes with fast charge technology and OTG support. For the pricing, the company says it has a recommended retail price of N24,500. Update, Nov 10, 2017: Added a little bit of information in-terms of design properties. Initially, I only said it was designed with plastic shell, but it has a much larger metal design.

However, of interest is the latest of itel’s product; the itel P51 smartphone. Let’s see the magic itel did with this device. Looking at the itel P51 closely, one can easily depict what kind of device it is - a low-end smartphone. The device has a pretty basic and super simple design. The appearance of the P51 smartphone lacks the spark or excitement that makes a buyer go crazy over it on first sight. At the back, the primary camera, Dual LED flash, the speaker grill and the itel logo are components that separates the itel P51 from a rectangular brick. The device however comes in four different colour variants; Black, Blue, Brown and Gold. Finally, some bit of design spark.
Up front is the proximity sensor, secondary camera, three soft navigation keys, and the display screen which will be discussed under the header below. A large 5.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen handles visual output on the itel P51. The display is of High Definition (HD) quality and has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. This screen is big enough and suitable for movies, reading books and web pages on the internet. The Quad-core MediaTek 1.3GHz processor and 1GB RAM combo don’t quite cut it but should do well enough to handle basic smartphone functions like surfing the internet, smooth multitasking, and handle some light games. Running some heavy games on this device may cause the itel P51 to lag or heat up.
The P51 smartphone a decent 16GB of internal memory (ROM) that can be increased to the region of 32GB using an external SD card. Multitasking is really easy because the device runs on the latest Android v7.0 Nougat OS and you get to enjoy the Split-screen feature (one of the many benefits of the Android Nougat OS). The primary camera located at the back of the device is an 8 megapixels sensor. The dual LED flash is positioned to ensure clear and crisp image production. On the frontal, a mediocre 2 megapixels lens and lacks LED flash. Images produced by this lens may not satisfy your Instagram, SnapChat, Facebook or selfie needs in general. The first major highlight of this device is the battery capacity. The itel P51 boasts of a 5,000mAh Li - ion battery that can last up to 72 hours (3 days) on full 100% charge. Sadly, the device lacks the expected "Quick charge" capability. Love the specs of this smartphone? Love to own a unit? Answered Yes to either of the two questions? Then you should have between N31,000 - N35,000 if you are in Nigeria.
