Itel S11 Konga in Nigeria
We have here the iTel S11. Have you previously heard of iTel Mobile? If you haven’t, it’s totally okay. Here is a brief low-down of the budget smartphone company. Tel Mobile is an affiliate of Transsion (the mother company of Tecno Mobile) and has been around for quite a while. Tel has been putting much of its focus on feature phones but has recently embarked on an ambitious path to introduce a number of budget Android smartphones. The itel 1516 plus S11 is one of such devices and it’s marketed as a selfie smartphone. Here is my review of the smartphone. The itel 1556 S11 by the way cost, Ksh.
ITel Mobile did a fantastic job with the camera. At first impression, I honestly didn’t expect much from the camera, but after experiencing it, I totally liked it. The clarity of the camera is awesome even in low light settings and I was really impressed by the performance since most budget smartphones have a really terrible camera profile. You get a 5MP Rear camera for general photography and an identical 5MP camera for your selfies. The camera packs a number of auxiliary features such as Beauty, Photo, Panorama and Pro modes. The Pro mode is quite good and it includes toggles to tweak the Exposure value, ISO and White Balance. The camera app, however, has pretty much the basic functions and I feel like Itel Mobile should have spent more time on the camera software.
Here are some of the pictures captured by the iTel S11. You get a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with an 854 x 480 Pixels resolution with the iTel S11. The clarity of the display is quite good and the smartphone has some pretty decent viewing angles. A 5.0-inch display is quite petite especially in this age of large screened displays and it takes some time to get used to the smaller display especially if you are from using a Phablet. The design of the iTel S11 is definitely one of the highlights of the smartphone. You get a frame that feels good and has a really nice appeal. The back cover is made of Aluminum and removable. The main chassis is of polycarbonate construction, but still looks good.
One thing that I noted with the S11 is that it takes quite some effort to remove the back cover. A 1.3GHz Quad-core powers the iTel S11 and this is coupled with some 1GB RAM. The performance profile of the S11 is pretty much what you get from other devices within its price range, although there are a number of 2GB RAM smartphone priced under Ksh. Check out the Antuntu and Geekbench scores of the iTel S11. You get 8GB of internal storage, which is quite mean considering that 16GB is now the standard for budget Android smartphones. The iTel S11 runs Android 6.0 out of the box. The OS is very close to the stock Android with minor customization here and there. A 2400mAh battery powers the iTel S11. The capacity is quite small when compared to what you can get from other manufacturers in the market. However, the iTel S11 software comes with a number of power management features that enables you to squeeze the most out of the smartphone.
The truth is, we have become very used to the way many smartphones work; their sim slot is either at the back when you open the battery cover or at the side in the form of a sim tray. But Itel mobile changed the position of the sim slot in the Itel 1516 plus. The slot it the top of the phone just beside the camera and the phone flash. If you take a look at the picture above you will see the space at the top above the camera from where you can pull open the slim slot. After pulling back the cover, you would see the space for two sims; insert your sims appropriately and replace the cover. Personally, I have encountered some "issues" after inserting my sim card as it does not automatically show that a sim card has been inserted in the Itel 1516 plus. All you need to do is restart your phone and it will start recognising your new sim. So there you have it folks! It is quite easy to insert your sim card into the Itel 1516 plus. Was this article helpful? Do you still have issues? Let us know in the comment box below.
On the specs side, the iTel S11 features a 5.0inch IPS display, is powered by a Quad-core 1.3GHz, Cortex A7 MediaTek MT6580M processor. Compared to the iTel 1516 Plus, the S11 is a minor downgrade. The Smartphone runs 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. On the camera side, the smartphone sports a 5 megapixels auto-focus rear camera accompanied by a 5 megapixels front facing camera. Without further ado, below are the full specification of the Android Smartphone. As stated in the specs-sheet above, the smartphone was officially announced a few days back. The price of iTel S11 should be around NGN27,000 to NGN30,000. However, this should vary depending on the store you choose to buy from.

Re: Full Specs Of The 5000mah Itel P51 Leaked Ahead Of Launch by Smart70(m): 9:15pm On Jul 03Upon all the procrastination about this P51, so all Itel could produce is 1GB RAM and 2MP/8MP camera. I think they should go and learn from Samsung, Gionee, Infinix and the rest. If it's on-screen, then it can no longer be called a soft key. This situation is critical.
Please my father in heaven deliver itel from the spirit of 1gb Ram. Pls, put to shame whoever is behind this curse of 1gb Ram issue, even those rejoicing over this 1gb Ram palava. I dreamt of the end of the times I had to camp at a charging spot to get some battery so that I can order my Uber back home, now with the Itel P51, that was no more. I would have a full charge even and still heavily use my phone with little worries. What is it’s specs meanwhile? Like the doubting Thomas, I was quick to rush to check out actual specifications of the Itel P51 even after reading some reviews about it online, I wasn’t just about to believe this without my hands on experience. However, I was impressed to find that it has 16GB Storage and allows up to 32GB memory card support, literally.
That means I can have as much data, photos, documents stored on my phone and basically have my work enhanced in rush hours when I can’t access my laptop or when I really don’t want to let my phone go. The storage bit wooed me. The Camera is just fine and can quickly optimize when there is full backlight to quickly focus on your object of focus. This here is what every phonography junkie needs every when they have a moment to capture the shot. The P51 also comes with a flash beside both the Rear Camera and the Front camera to allow you take shots even when it’s dark. The itel 1516 P51 is a dual Micro SIM enabled smartphone giving you the ability to use two networks on one smartphone however, it only allows up to 3G data connectivity something that the world is slowly moving away from. It’s a ‘setback’. The Simcard and memory card slots are at the Top of the phone rather than the usual side or bottom.
This is the marque of the Itel P51. It boasts of a 5000 mAh Li-ion Battery that can take you up to a whopping three days on a single charge. Yes, the itel 1556 P51 is promising to give you three days the of the battery running without bothering to charge again. Given my heavy smartphone use, I was able to take up-to 60hours of no charge but that was coupled heavy streaming on YouTube and multitasking the apps that could have drained my battery so fast. However, the battery life is something to reckon with when it comes to the itel 1556 P51. On this one, they did a tremendous Job and will be darling non-heavy smartphone users.
Maybe that explains why it’s a little heavy in weight compared to the previous series. The Itel P51 is an affordable smartphone that promises outstanding battery stamina, the first in its MaxPower series. With a massive 5000 mAh battery, the entry-level 5.5-inch smartphone promises up to 3 days of use. Aside, the battery stamina, the Itel P51 is just another average entry-level smartphone and actually coming off at a cheap and affordable price. The Itel P51 in Uganda ranges from UGX 320,000 to UGX350,000 and is available at Itel Outlets around town or the head offices at Prism tower, Kampala Road.
Itel 1516 - Itel 1556 - Itel P51 - Itel S11
Asides the ‘S‘ series now, phone makers Itel has launched the ‘MaxPower’ series. The first on the MaxPower series is the Itel P51 device. As always with this device makers, you would likely not be disappointed. The device passes as an entry-level smartphone with very modest specs. We would be taking a good look at the nitty-gritty of the device, and what we think about it. The Itel P51 MaxPower features a somewhat large 5.5-inch display, which would probably be palm friendly. It is sure an IPS display type. The display resolution is pegged at 720 x 1280 pixels. With a 267 ppi pixel density, on-screen images and icons are taken care of.
Though, the pixel density isn’t what we expect from Itel. There’s a quad-core Processor that powers this itel 1516 plus device. The processor speed is pegged at 1.3GHz. It is also built on an Android operating system v7.0 (Nougat). At least, it runs on a more recent operating system rather than the itel 1556 S31 device OS. For your storage needs (music, videos, files, documents and all), the itel P51 MaxPower avails users with a 16 GB memory. This space can be further increased to the tune of 32GB, and it would be with the help of a micro SD card. A 1 GB RAM is what takes care of the smooth running of apps.
Well, I really think that at this time, this RAM size should not be put into use again. Itel could have done a lot better in this department. On its rear, there’s an 8 MP Camera. This camera can record 1080p HD Video. Features of the camera include Autofocus, Dual-LED Flash and Face Detection. While a 2MP Camera is present on the front of the device. The front camera comes with a Soft Flash. This would prove to be one of the major selling points of the device. The Itel P51 device comes with a whopping 5000 mAh Li-ion Battery.
Hence, this device is ‘bae’ to heavy smartphone users. But then, I also think Itel should have done something on the RAM to help manage apps better. That would have significantly complimented the battery capacity. According to Itel, you can enjoy up to three days of uninterrupted connectivity with this battery. Itel P51 MaxPower is not yet available in Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya. The device is set to launch in Nigeria on July 10, 2017. When it launches, you can buy the affordable Android phone at leading online stores in your country. The price of the Itel P51 in Nigeria ranges from 29,000 Naira to 33,000 Naira. Price in Ghana should start at around GH₵ 479. Itel P51 Price in Kenya is expected at around 9,999 KSh. Never Miss An Update; Join Us On Whatsapp, Like Our Facebook Page Or Follow Us On Twitter. itel 1556 P51 isn’t left out. The itel s11 P51 gets additional attention because it is the first Itel phone to run on Android 7 (Nougat). Though I would’ve liked to see a Spreadtrum Nougat model released by Itel, a Mediatek model is welcome… but I’m still expecting. On the Itel P51 and Itel P12, Itel claims that you’re covered for 3 days of power once fully charged. Such statements obviously come with terms and conditions because no 5000 mAh battery will last me 3 days; the assumption here is that you’re an average user. So far (on Itel phones), 5000 mAh capacity spotted on models like Itel P12 , Itel IT1516 Plus and this Itel P51 is second only to the 5050 mAh spotted on the itel s11 IT1553 .
The Itel P51 supports OTG reverse charging. itel 1556 isn’t exactly popular for great camera quality so don’t stretch your expectations here. We’ve seen 8.0 Back Cameras on the Itel IT1511 (which also has the 8.0 MP : 2.0 MP combo) and on the Itel IT1518 (8.0 MP Back : 5.0 MP Front camera) which is a 4G VOLTE Itel phone . Current Itel phone models run on either 512 MB (like in the recently released Itel A12) or 1 GB RAM so the Itel P51 is running on the highest RAM currently available on Itel phones. I’ve experienced 1GB RAM on Itel and its not a very pleasant experience, not even for an average user.
Itel often attempts to squeeze the most juice out of the RAM which only has a counter effect of making it slower. If you’re a light user then you’ll enjoy 1GB RAM on itel 1516 plus phones. Don’t even consider the 512 MB RAM models unless you’re the zonal chairman of light phone users. Currently, Itel models have either 4 GB, 8GB or 16 GB ROMs. A 16 GB ROM ought to serve you well on the Itel P51 but don’t think you’re immune to the running low on storage space error. Luckily, you can convert your external SD card to an adoptable storage .
